Schedule Service

A well-maintained BMW is one of the best vehicles you can drive through a New England winter — xDrive all-wheel drive, excellent chassis balance, and real capability with the right tires. Auto Care Plus services the BMW lineup at our New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine locations, including the 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3, X5, X7, and the i4 and iX electric models.

BMW Maintenance Is Proactive, Not Reactive

This is the core of BMW ownership. These cars tell you a great deal through their condition-based service system, but the system does not track everything that matters. Cooling system components have a service life. Gaskets harden and leak on a predictable timeline. Waiting for a failure on a BMW is significantly more expensive than replacing a known wear item on schedule, and any experienced BMW technician will tell you the same thing.

The Leaks We Look For

Valve cover gaskets, oil filter housing gaskets, and oil pan gaskets are the three most common oil leaks on modern BMW engines, and the valve cover and filter housing leaks typically drip onto the exhaust or into the serpentine belt area. The second one matters — oil-soaked belts fail and can be drawn into the front crank seal, which turns a gasket job into a much larger repair. We inspect for these routinely.

Cooling Systems Deserve Respect

BMW cooling systems use plastic components that become brittle with heat cycling — expansion tanks, thermostat housings, and water pump housings. An electric water pump failure on the highway produces an overheat quickly. On any BMW past roughly 80,000 miles, we assess the cooling system as a system rather than waiting for a single component to fail.

Run-Flat Tires and What to Do About Them

Many BMWs come with run-flat tires and no spare, which is a reasonable engineering choice and a frustrating ownership reality on New England roads in spring. Run-flats have stiff sidewalls that ride harshly, cost more, often wear faster, and are frequently not repairable after a puncture. Many owners switch to conventional tires and carry an inflator and sealant kit, which improves ride quality and reduces cost meaningfully. It is a genuine tradeoff rather than an obvious upgrade, and it depends on how and where you drive. We will lay out both sides honestly and fit whichever you choose, including winter setups.
