Our Annual Vehicle Health Check is designed to closely mirror the former New Hampshire State Inspection — so you can still get the objective, top-to-bottom safety review you have relied on for years. Auto Care Plus technicians inspect brakes, tires, steering, suspension, lights, exhaust, and more, and give you a clear, photo-documented report of your vehicle's condition. An optional windshield sticker helps you remember when your next check is due.

No More N.H. State Inspections

New Hampshire State Inspections have been abolished by the state, but we want you to know that we still care about your vehicle’s safety at Auto Care Plus. To combat the ending of the state inspection program in N.H., we are offering FREE vehicle health checks to make sure your vehicle is operating safe and to give you peace of mind. Our ASE Master technicians will thoroughly inspect key safety components including brakes, tires, steering, suspension, lights, and more. You’ll receive a clear report of your vehicle’s condition so you can make informed decisions.

Safety Laws Still Exist

Even though the state has phased out the inspection program, you are still legally required to be safe on the roads. We want you to know that those laws have not gone away with this change. Law enforcement can still pull you over and can issue a citation or ticket if your vehicle has:

  • Holes in vehicle frame, questioning structural integrity
  • Headlight, brake light, license plate light, or turn signal is out
  • Bald or unsafe tires
  • Cracked windshield
  • Excessively loud exhaust
  • And more!

Our Vehicle Health Check covers all the traditional safety items that were included in a typical New Hampshire State Inspection, and we’re now offering it completely FREE. This includes inspections of your brakes, tires, lights, steering, suspension, and more. We’ll thoroughly evaluate your vehicle for safety and reliability and clearly communicate the exact condition of your car. As we always do, you’ll receive photos and videos of your vehicle’s components to ensure complete transparency.

You can also choose from two different windshield sticker options to help you easily remember when your next Vehicle Health Check is due. Just like a NH The sticker is completely optional. If you prefer not to receive one, that’s absolutely fine with us.

What is the Vehicle Health Check?

It is our annual comprehensive safety and condition review, designed to closely mirror the former New Hampshire State Inspection. It covers the same key safety systems and gives you a clear, photo-documented picture of where your vehicle actually stands.

How is it different from a state inspection?

A state inspection is a legal requirement with a pass or fail outcome. The Vehicle Health Check is a voluntary service focused entirely on you — there is no sticker riding on the result, so we simply tell you the truth about your vehicle's condition and what it needs and when.

How often should I get one?

Once a year is the right rhythm for most drivers, which is exactly why we designed it as an annual check. If you drive a lot of miles, tow, plow, or drive a high-mileage vehicle, it is worth doing more often.

What does the inspection cover?

Brakes, tires and wheels, steering and suspension, exterior lighting, wipers and glass, exhaust, fluid levels and condition, belts and hoses, battery and charging, and a full diagnostic scan — plus a road test.

Will you tell me everything that's wrong, or just the urgent things?

Everything. You get a complete photo-documented report of every finding, prioritized into what is urgent, what is coming soon, and what is simply worth knowing. What you do with that information is entirely your call — we will never pressure you.

What is the windshield sticker for?

It is an optional reminder, placed where your inspection sticker used to be, so you have a simple visual cue for when your next health check is due. Same habit, same spot on the windshield.

Is this required by law?

No. The Vehicle Health Check is voluntary. It exists because a lot of drivers valued having an objective annual safety review of their vehicle and wanted to keep that habit.

Our process:

  • Discuss any concerns you have noticed with the vehicle

  • Inspect steering and suspension components for wear and play
