Schedule Service

Volvo has been a New England brand for decades, and the current XC40, XC60, and XC90 continue a tradition that started with wagons in Vermont driveways. Auto Care Plus services the Volvo lineup at our New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine locations, including the S60, S90, V60, V90, XC40, XC60, XC90, and the plug-in hybrid Recharge models.

One Engine Family, Many Configurations

Modern Volvos use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder in several forms — turbocharged, turbocharged and supercharged, and plug-in hybrid. That consistency is helpful for service, but it also means these engines work hard for their output. Oil quality and change intervals matter more than on a lazier engine, and the turbocharger and supercharger components depend entirely on clean oil at the right viscosity.

All-Wheel Drive and Winter Capability

Volvo all-wheel drive systems use a Haldex-type coupling that requires fluid service on a real interval. It is easy to overlook because nothing complains until performance degrades. We check and service it, along with the rear differential, because an AWD system that has never been serviced is not delivering what you paid for.

Electronics and the 12-Volt Battery

Volvos are dense with networked modules and driver assistance systems, and they are sensitive to voltage. A battery with low reserve capacity produces an alarming spread of warning messages across systems that have nothing to do with each other. We test battery state of health and charging output before chasing individual module faults, and that alone resolves many complaints.

Driver Assistance Systems Need Calibration

Volvo has built its identity around safety systems, and those systems depend on cameras and radar sensors being aimed precisely. After a windshield replacement, a wheel alignment, a suspension repair, or any front-end work, those sensors need recalibration — and an uncalibrated system is genuinely worse than no system, because it may act when it should not or fail to act when it should. We perform static and dynamic ADAS calibration in house rather than sending you elsewhere. If your Volvo has had glass or front-end work done somewhere that did not calibrate afterward, it is worth having checked. Calibration is also required more often than people expect: a suspension repair that changes ride height by a small amount is enough to put a forward-facing camera outside its tolerance.
