Lincoln

Schedule Service

Lincoln has built a genuinely appealing lineup around quiet, comfortable crossovers and the Navigator, which remains one of the most capable large SUVs sold. Auto Care Plus services the Lincoln lineup at our New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine locations, including the Corsair, Nautilus, Aviator, and Navigator.

Ford Engineering With a Luxury Layer

Lincolns share powertrains and platforms with Ford, which means EcoBoost turbocharged engines, the 10-speed automatic, and the same known items apply. On top of that sits adaptive suspension, air suspension on some models, extensive driver assistance, and a dense module network. We service both halves properly rather than treating a Navigator as a fancy Expedition and missing what is different.

EcoBoost Engines and Oil Discipline

Turbocharged engines are less forgiving of extended oil intervals than the naturally aspirated engines they replaced, because turbochargers depend entirely on clean oil at the correct viscosity. Direct injection also means carbon accumulates on intake valves over time. Neither is a defect, and both are manageable with correct maintenance.

Air Suspension and Adaptive Damping

Navigator and some Aviator models use air suspension. The failure sequence is the familiar one — a spring leaks, the compressor works harder to compensate, and eventually the compressor fails. If your Lincoln sits low or unevenly overnight, that is the moment to address it, while it is still a spring and not a spring plus a compressor.

Quietness Hides Wear

Lincoln invests heavily in cabin isolation, and the unintended consequence is that developing problems stay silent far longer than they would in another vehicle. Wheel bearings, suspension bushings, exhaust leaks, and brake wear all announce themselves through sound, and in a Navigator or Nautilus you may not hear any of it until it is well advanced. That is the argument for inspection on a schedule rather than in response to a noise. We road test with the audio off, put the vehicle on a lift, and check the components that would have told you themselves in a noisier car. We also use a chassis ear on road tests when a customer reports something intermittent, which isolates a noise to a specific corner instead of turning diagnosis into parts replacement.
