Schedule Service

Quattro all-wheel drive, a well-sorted chassis, and interiors that hold up make Audi a genuinely good fit for New England driving. Auto Care Plus services the Audi lineup at our New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine locations, including the A3, A4, A5, A6, Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, and the e-tron electric models.

Shared Engineering, Specific Requirements

Audi shares a great deal of engineering with Volkswagen, which means the same discipline applies: oil meeting the correct VW and Audi specification rather than just the right viscosity, the correct coolant formulation, and service intervals that are real rather than optimistic. Where Audi differs is complexity — more systems, more modules, and more that depends on getting the details right.

The Known Patterns on TFSI Engines

Carbon buildup on intake valves from direct injection is the most common one, showing as rough cold idle and gradual power loss. Plastic water pump and thermostat housings crack and leak. PCV diaphragms tear and create vacuum leaks. On certain earlier 2.0 TFSI engines, timing chain tensioner design and oil consumption are documented issues worth knowing about before you buy a used one.

Quattro and Winter Capability

Quattro is excellent, and it is not a substitute for tires. An Audi on proper winter tires is superb in New England conditions; an Audi on worn all-seasons is a heavy all-wheel-drive car that stops no better than anything else. We will give you a straight recommendation based on how and where you drive rather than upselling a tire package you do not need.

Wheels, Tires, and New England Spring

Large-diameter wheels with low-profile tires look right on an Audi and are vulnerable on roads coming out of a hard freeze. A pothole that a taller sidewall would absorb instead bends the wheel, damages the tire sidewall, or knocks the alignment out. We inspect wheels for bend and crack damage when we have the car up, check tire sidewalls for bulges that indicate internal damage, and can straighten or advise on wheel repair. Many owners run a smaller-diameter winter wheel and tire package, which improves both snow performance and pothole survivability. It is one of the better decisions available to an Audi owner here.
